Well... this isn't as early as I would have liked to post this, but let's talk about Slumdog Millionair. My first exposure to the movie was the Golden Globe Awards. I still hadn't heard a whole lot about the movie seeing as I don't follow the entertainment business as much as I have in the past. So then the movie went on the win at the SAG Awards. I was definitely interested and intrigued at this point. And finally, weeks later, my family and I went to see the movie. I am so glad that I got to see this movie in the theatres. It was definitely one of my favorites.

There is something so beautiful about all the cinematography in the movie; the gorgeous scenes of India, the heartbreaking view of children in that time and the movement with all the running was exceptionally wonderful.

As to the plot of the story, I normally struggle to watch or learn about history. However, I think that setting the events and characterstics of history within a game show is much more entertaining for me. I love the notion that knowledge isn't about where you came from, how wealthy your family was, or even how many years of education you completed. This is a lesson I hope many children and also adults will take away from this movie. I want people to understand that an Ivy league education doesn't make someone "smart" and that everyone has something to offer to the vast world of knowledge that we live in.

I don't have a ton to say about this movie, other than see it yourself. I think that this movie is not really something to read a blog about, rather go ahead and experience the entertainment in person. There is obviously so much more than I have written here, but I don't regard that as my lack of appreciation for the film.

Go see the movie, kids! I have nothing more to say on that...

Coming up next... a poem or two by me...

So I've had a ton of differen blogs for my podcasts and even one I was very serious about on TvGuide.com. But I got really busy with the whole college thing for probably more than a year. I recently decided that I really miss podcasting, blogging and community interaction. So, I decided to expand my TvGuide.com blog of the same name. On this blog I will discuss more than the entertainment shows I watch. I hope to discuss books that I read, poems or short stories that I write as well as the movies and television shows I watch.

Starting either later tonight or tomorrow I plan to post my thoughts on Slumdog Millionaire and maybe even a poem that I have been writing for my creative fiction class.

I would love to hear from people. Leave a comment on the blog either at blogspot or at TvGuide.com. My username for TvGuide.com is jlgboxsetqueen.

Also, you can follow me on twitter under the username jlgboxsetqueen.

Oh, and one last thing... should I start the JLG My Boys Podcast back up? Is anyone interested in listening? Is anyone interested in contributing?

Later!
